MG Ball

This is my latest work. Jus completed today. I aqquired this piece of MG from one of my friend and it a nice piece of material to work with. I'm totally amaze by the detail in the internal frame. But bad thing it once you piece up the armors on the internal frame. all hard work of doing major detailing is all lost. But i ok as i can always open the armors up and look at the details inside. This will be the second piece of model kit that i will bring to the katoots model meet. :) The snap fitting is quite fast. not much parts to cements as i wanted to take the armors apart once in a while. so save me lots of time. This is so far the fastest project that i have ever work at. I have complete this piece in a week time. The initial stage is snap fitting ad cement. It took me 1 day to do that, the rest is detailing the internal frame. at 1st it failed as the zippo tinner totally remove the enemal paints i use on. later the next day i try again and by adding more gloss additives into the tinners to make it more strong. this time detailing no problem and washing become an easy job. then i proceed to do the shading on the outer frames and the shading is flat black, follow by semi-gloss cobalt blue and washing using red. And the end result turns out to be what i have vision. A GITS ball :) I jus Love Balls. Don't you all think so? ^_^ LOLz

Zaku I Sniper Type

This is my 3rd kit that i build for the Katoots Modelling meet this june. The theme for this modelling meet is Mono-Eye. But that doesn't mean other model kits cannot be display along with them. This forum Katoots is doing everything at their best to promote modelling to all ages. I'm one die-hard supporter for their action. But don't forget to join Zeon Dukedom oh ^_^. Ok back to subject. This kit is mostly build at Caleb' Toys where i could get advices from alot of modellers at the shop. 1st and foremost i needed to say is i was doing the Max Technique and to learn my airbrush strokes with it. but i still like clean looking gundams LOLz.I Gunply modelling does not need to be shaded at all. 1st we have nothing real like gundam mobile suits that are fully functional that we can base upon on. Not like planes, tanks, boats where there is references to follow and airbrushed upon.
2nd gunply modelling is something where peoples can do whatever they like and they can change the color schemes anyway they like as it their creations. Not die die must follow the original color schemes that they come with. this project took me a total of 2 weeks close to 3 weeks to complete. complete with a small base and the sandy look is sculpted using super sculpy. i guess during my old days of sculpting custom action figures tips and techniques does comes to play here. :) This is my main entry for the upcomming Katoots meet this june :)

Stargazer Z.A.F.T Edition

After my 1st project has complete. i started straight away on my 2nd project Stargazer. I always wanted to do something different on the original stargazer as it is too plain for me. And i way toying around the idea of what happened if Z.A.F.T capture the stargazer before the others get it? The i came with this color scheme. This time round i was using lots of masking jobs on it. Almost all the parts are masked in a slightly different way. The initial snap fitting is fast and cements plus sanding to remove the seams lines takes me only 1 and a half-day this time round. it not fast consider it a 1/144 kit. If i'm doing a MG then it might have not been so fast then. Anyway once i have finish the 1st phrase. It the Masking phrase. This phrase take me lots of time as i was doing the color scheme splitting on a few linearts i got from the net, and finally come up with the look i wanted then i process to mask this kit. Due to it size. It more harder to mask. Rather than the traditional masking tech" doing layer by layer and fianlly come up with the shape desire. i actually use the more lazy technique. it called mess masking. which i will lay out a few stripes of maskign tape on my cutting mat. and i draw out the shap i wanted to see. then i cut out the shape and pull out the rest of the masked tape with the design i wanted from the cutting mat and lay them over and filled in the gap which i might have miss to create this look you see below. It time saving and it gets most of the job done. It can be use on smaller kits where is easier to hide. But i don't think i will try this technique on the bigger scales models. :) Anyway enjoy my new work :) Stargazer Z.A.F.T edition.
